Our organization specializes in clean energy projects that utilize renewable biomass and woodgas pyrolytic processes, and we are pleased to introduce and promote Woodgas Emission Reductions (WERs) as a specific type of voluntary emission reduction (VER) that are now available as carbon offsets.
As a charitable, Illinois-based not-for-profit (NFP) organization that is tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) of Title 26 of the United States Code, our projects are focused on woodgas TLUD cookstove technologies and biochar production technologies.
Our first woodgas TLUD cookstove project was launched in late 2018, and it is currently yielding about 3,000 carbon offsets per year. Since one carbon offset is equivalent to a reduction of one metric ton of CO2e emissions, our project currently reduces harmful carbon dioxide emissions by 3,000 metric tons annually by lowering cookstove fuel use requirements and redirecting charcoal yields to other applications to reduce biomass burning.
We invite you to help us through your kind donations for carbon offsets, woodgas TLUD cookstoves, and/or general project support as we work to place woodgas TLUD cookstoves into 250 million households of impoverished people who are currently cooking with inadequate, unhealthy, inefficient cookstoves and open fires. Our fuel-efficient, clean-burning woodgas TLUD cookstoves use significantly less fuel (ordinary, renewable biomass) and can make life better for literally billions of people around the world.
